The McNeish School of Irish Dance was founded and is operated by Alice McNeish, TMRF.  Ms. McNeish is a former student of Una Ellis, A.D.C.R.G.  and attended the Gaelic Roots Festival at Boston College.  Ms. McNeish has also taken classes with Tony Nolan, A.D.C.R.G, of the Irish Dancing Commission in Dublin, Ireland and Da Armstrong, A.D.C.R.G.  She competed and performed in NYC and Canada.  An instructor of Irish Step Dance for the past 14 years, you can read more about Ms. McNeish in the March/April 2004 issue of Hornpipe Magazine.

Some of our events in the Burlington, Vermont area included the Irish Heritage Festival, Champlain Valley Folk Festival, MarketFest, First Night, International Festival and the New World Festival.

Our dancers are honored to have shared the stage with nationally acclaimed musicians such as Natalie MacMaster, Eileen Ivers, Teada and Sliabh Notes.

Many of our dancers chose to participate in dance competitions.  While this is not a requirement, many students found the excitement of attending a “feis” (pronounced fesh) with fellow dancers a great experience and lots of fun!  Feisianna (plural for feis) are held all over the country and our school typically attends 4-6 competitions a year in New England and Quebec.
